  • In 2008 Sally Torres Vega launched her eponymous label fabricating timeless garments. Her work includes natural fibers & contemporary craftsmanship with an ethical approach. Every garment is designed and produced in Puerto Rico. This brand wants to invest to expand its recognition and commissioned me to work on brand solutions.

  • Short run, inconsistent materials, and digital transitions were evaluated. Deliverables include a fully functional scalable e-commerce site and social media system along with micro-interactions for social & web. Also a low-ink, elegant print system solution for collateral, mail, and pop-up items.

  • To create a brand & digital experience that communicates brand values and increase sales.

One of the main opportunities of this brand was explore materiality and to dig in the ideal of timeless. Along with designer references Leonardo Da Vinci Water studies starts to emerge as a referential material.

MATERIALS

With the idea of evoking memory in materiality for packaging solutions I searched for the help of local paper fabrication & print media. 

DESIGN

START & REFINE DESIGN

For the branding process I propose a vector illustration as the starting point and proceed for few logotype iterations. UX Solutions for the e-commerce store were negotiated. Stripping content and navigation to the bare minimum along with changes in the information architecture were proposed.

Later in the process I consider typography patterns  

BRAND

A custom illustration system with type was delivered evoking fluidity and awareness.

OUTCOMES

  • User adoption and engagement increase dramatically in the first months of transition and digital outreach.

  • For this project, Deliverables include a low-ink, elegant print system solution for collateral, mail, and pop-up items. Integrating ecological & biodegradable local paper and local printers, new achiote (annatto seeds) & repurposed denim come into existence. These collaborations not only reflect the brand values but established and added value to local relationships and sustainable innovation.

  • New Iterations of the sites & micro-sites that are production-based.
